Jean Michel Daudier was born in Les Cayes Haiti in 1957 into a family of musicians and poets. He was 15 years old when he learned to play the guitar. His first guitar was a broken once left behind by a half brother after a wrong turned out serenade night. Jean Michel left Haiti in 1989 to lived with his morther in New York before, he moved to Miami in 1999. He continious to produce his music and performs on weekends.
He became famous in Haiti in 1986 after writing a protest song called “Lem pa we soley la” (When I don't see the Sunshine). The song was written for the Catholic radio station "Radio Soleil" which supported the fight against the former dictator Baby Doc in Haiti. The song was distributed clandestinely on a small tape cassette and no one knew the singer. People were arrested for singing that song in the streets of Port - au - Prince after a Charismatic concert by Jhon Littleton a singer from Canada. In year 2009, Jean Michel Daudier was nominated Ambassador of hope for Haiti by the Haitian Eritaj Foudation of Boston.
He produced four albums already "Soley La" , "Dispora", "Nou Tout Samble" and the latest "Tropical Paradise" . Now his working on a new album within a beautiful song he wrote for Haiti. His music has a mixture of Haitian Tropical, French and Word beat.
He already published 32 songs in his albums. He impacted so many lives and influenced three generations with his music. He sings in Creole, French and English. In 1997, his work was documented in the book “A day for the Hunter. A Day for the Prey” by Gage Averill.
Over the past twenty years, he expanded his musical style. He collaborated with many great Haitian artists like: Buyu Ambroise, Mushi Widmaier, Pierre Rigaud Cherry, Joel Widmaier, Raoul Denis Jr, Joe Charles, Ansy Peters, Carole Demesmin, Emeline Michel, Andre Dejan, Yves Abel, Claudy Clerie, Edouard Mathieu, Jakomo, Roserbie Theoc, Fred Hilaire, Claude Marcelin, Pokito, Arius Joseph, Jacqueline Denis, Harold St Louis, Tony Moreno, Jacques Fathier and many more...
Living in USA since 1989, he did perform in New York at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn College. City College, York College, Montreal Canada, Boston, Washington, New Jersey, Orlando, Georgia and Tampa. In Miami at the Broward Performing Art Center for Martin Luther king Jr birthday Celebrations, North Miami Performing Art Center, Las Olas River Front, Devry University, Miami University, Miami Books Fare Festival, Biltmore Hotel, Miami Shores Country Club, Sundays on the Bay, Biltmore Hotel, Little Haiti Cultural Center and Mapou Cultural Center in Little Haiti. Jean Michel Daudier still using his talent to raising money to help the Haitian earthquake victims. He gives a profit of his CDs to orphans organizations in Haiti in the US.
